Horizontal Retrace - Hardware Primitives

Horizontal retrace refers to the time an electron beam takes to traverse a scan line.Vertical retrace means the time taken by the electron beam to come back to the top left corner of the  screen after tracing a frame (all the scan lines of the screen).
