To graph a set of numbers on a number line means to plot, or locate, those positions on the line. The number that corresponds to a point on the number line is called the coordinate of the point. The point on the number line itself is called the graph of the number.
For example, here's the graph of the set {-2, 1, 4} on a number line.
Note: The graphs of -2, 1, and 4 are the points A, B, and C, respectively. But the coordinates of points A, B, and C are the actual numbers -2, 1, and 4
