Functions of the gall bladder
Bile from the liver passes through the cystic duct to the gall bladder. The gall bladder acts as a reservoir of bile. By the absorption of water, the bile is concentrated in gall bladder. When a meal is taken, the gall bladder contracts. Then the bile passes through the cystic duct again and then down the bile duct and enters the duodenum.
