Explain the term-  Phased

In this approach only part of the new system is introduced and only when it proves to work satisfactorily is the next part introduced and so on, until old system is fully replaced

 - If latest part fails, only need to go back in system to the point of failure; thus a failure isn't disastrous

-  More expansive than direct because it is essential to evaluate every phase before moving to the next stage

-  can ensure system works properly before expanding
