Explain the term Ageing?

Ageing in human being is of a multifunctional origin and there is a programmed senescence (ageing) of the cells in the body. The genetic make-up of an individual is responsible for some degree of physical decline in the ageing process, but several environmental factors including diet, exercise, smoking, air pollution and occupational conditions also assume great importance.
