Define the Surgery Process for Cancer Patient?
Surgery is generally conducted in the absence of metastasis i.e. when a tumor is localized. Nutrition support would vary depending on the area being operated and its association with the digestion/absorption of food. For instance, surgical removal of the tumor of appendix may not call for any major demands on the nutritional support whereas, surgical removal of a part of liver/pancreas may require specialized feeds and feeding support techniques (enteral/total/parenteral).
