The small intestine is continuous with the stomach at the pyloric sphincter and leads into the large intestine at the ileocdic valve. It is about 21 feet long. It lies in the abdominal cavity. It is surrounded by the large intestine.
The small intestine is divided into three parts - duodenum, jejunum and ileum.
