Explain the Significance of Binary Data
Controlled devices generally contain registers that are made up of binary digits (bits). The following illustration shows how these registers can be used to control a device.
Example
Device on the left is a mobile trolley with 3 wheels. All three wheels can turn right or left and every wheel has its own electric driving motor. Sensors at the rear and front of the trolley detect an object in its path that would subsequently stop all movement. An 8-bit register is used to control the device.
What are the Barcode readers These collect data from printed barcodes and allow automatic stock control in, for illustration, supermarkets.
