Explain the Riboflavin content of RBC - Riboflavin?

The erythrocyte glutathione reductase assay, with an activity coe cient (AC) expressing the ratio of activities in the presence and  absence of added FAD, continues to be used as a main functional indicator of  riboflavin status, but some limitations in the technique have been noted. Addition of FAD to an erythrocyte haemolysate records greater increase in deficient than in repleted subjects. Suggested guidelines for the interpretation of such enzyme ACs are as follows:  less than 1.2, acceptable; 1.2-1.4, low; greater, than 1.4, deficient.
