Explain the process of threshing, Chemistry

Assignment Help:

Threshing

The process of threshing separates the kernels from the stalks or panicles on which they grow. Threshing may take place in the field, or at the homestead or village; it may be carried out manually with the aid  of animals or with machinery. A simple method consists of beating the cereal heads against a wall or the ground; animals or humans can also trample the panicles on a hard surface or animals can draw a machine or sledge over the grain. Maize grains must be separated from the cob after the husk has been removed.
