Explain the Postoperative Nutritional Care?
The therapeutic goal for the post-operative patient is rapid recovery to normal function and well being, minimum complications and early discharge. In the post-operative period, nutrition support is used to reduce nutrition deficits that ordinarily develop in untreated patients during the period of NPO (nil orally) after surgery.
