Regulation of Glycolysis
There are three markedly exergonic reactions in the glycolytic pathway, which are considered physiologically irreversible. These reactions are catalyzed by the enzymes hexokinase (glucokinase), phosphofiuctokinase-I and pyruvate kinase and these reactions are the major sites of regulation of glycolysis.
