Explain process scheduling in multiprogramming
Multiprogramming is able to be defined as a set of following features:
1. A mix of CPU bound and IO bound processes live in the system
2. An IO bound process has superior priority that a CPU bound process
3. Process priorities are static and do not change with time
4. Process scheduling is preventative a low priority running process is preempted if a higher priority process becomes ready
The following figure exemplify the process state transitions in multiprogramming

What are a safe state and an unsafe state? Answer: A state is safe if the system can allocate resources to every process in some order and still avoid a deadlock. A system is
Evicting the most-recently used (MRU) page does very well on LRU's worst case. In general, however, MRU is a bad idea, since many programs exhibit temporal locality in their memory
What is starvation? A main problem related to deadlock is starvation. Starvation is the circumstances where process waits indefinitely within the semaphore. Indefinite blocking
