Q. Explain Moulding Sand for Non-ferrous Casting?

The melting point of non- ferrous metal is much lower than that of ferrous metals. Therefore, the moulding sands for non-ferrous casting may be less refractory and permeable. Also, a smooth surface is desirable on non-ferrous casting. Due to all this, the moulding sands for non-ferrous casting contain a considerable amount of clay and fine grained.
