Explain how tunneling takes place in forward bias, Physics

Assignment Help:

Describe how tunneling takes place

When  tunnel  diode  is  forward  biased,  its  initial  behaviour  is  similar  to  that when it's reverse biased. Now, some of the filled  energy levels on the n-side shift to a high energy level than empty level on p-side electron tunneling now occurs, from the n-side to the p-side. With the increase in forward  bias, more and more electrons tunnel from N-side to the P-side.
