Explain how to Converting Percents to Decimals ?
Percent : "Percent" means "per hundred." Percents are represented by a percent sign ( % ) to the right of a number. For example, if you have a group of 100 people, 2% of that group would be two people. If you have a group of 200 people, 2% would be four people.
Converting Percents to Decimals
To convert a percent to a decimal:
Remove the percent sign. Move the decimal point 2 decimal places to the left.
Example 1: 42.7% = 0.427
Drop the percent sign and move the decimal point two places to the left.
Example 2: 7.48% = 0.0748
Drop the percent sign and move the decimal point two places to the left. As the decimal point is moved, fill in empty decimal places with zeros.
