A study comparing delavirdine/zidovudine/didanosine, delavirdine plus either zidovudine or didanosine, and zidovudine/didanosine in patients with mean CD4 cell counts of 295 cells/mm3 and <6 months prior HIV treatment showed only modest benefit from the triple combination. Unlike other NNRTIs, delavirdine enhances serum concentrations of protease inhibitors.
