Explain the characteristics and utilities available into java that makes it appropriate for developing e-commerce applications.
Following are the characteristics and utilities available in JAVA which make it suitable for developing e-commerce applications:
a. Within a network, the transmission of passive information and active programs are quite common among the server and a PC. Those programs can be very handily run upon JAVA.
b. Java assists applet. An applet is an application designed to transmit over Internet.
c. Java gives a high level security against threat of virus infection and malicious programs which can gather private information as like credit card number, bank balances and so more. The security is assured through ‘Fire walls’.
d. This is designed for distributed environment of the Internet.
e. This is simple, portable and robust
