Assignment Help:

Explain Back pain, arthritis and gout - Effect of Obesity?

Abdominal obesity increases the risk of back pain because of the extra load on the spinal column. This, in turn, reduces physical activity leading again to an increase in adiposity. Obesity is also associated with the development of osteoarthritis and gout. The extra stress on the weight bearing joints is a contributing factor. Obese are prone to developing hyperuricemia (excess uric acid in blood) resulting in gout.
