New employee orientation is the procedure you employ for welcoming a new employee into your company. New employee orientation, often headed by a meeting with the Human Resources department, usually involves work environment, the new job description, information about safety, the benefits and eligibility, company history, company culture, organization chart and anything else pertinent to working in the new company.

New employee orientation often involves an introduction to every department in the organization and training on-the-job. New employee orientation repeatedly involves spending time performing the jobs in every department to comprehend the flow of the product or service through the business.

Dr. John Sullivan, chief of the Human Resource Management Program at San Francisco State University, concludes that numerous elements add to a World Class orientation program. The top fresh employee orientation:

  • has targeted objectives and meets them,
  • builds the first day a celebration,
  • includes family as well as co-workers,
  • go for new hires productive on the opening day,
  • is not uninteresting, rushed or ineffective, and
  • uses feedback to constantly progress.
