1. 'Glass innovations' is a US company making a variety of glass containers for laboratories in the home market, the UK and Europe. One of the key quality requirements is container bursting strength in pounds per square inch (still the US unit of pressure). This is thought to be a big problem in terms of consistency and conformance to requirements. Currently the company does not use statistical methods to monitor product quality. At present a representative sample of production is pressurised to destruction. The sample number, sample data and customer tolerance is shown on page 7. If the average falls within the customer tolerance then the batch is accepted. Analyse the data, discuss your conclusions and recommend a suitable action programme.
