Discuss "cohesive energy" and "electron affinity".

‘Cohesive energy’:  In a chemical bond, it’s the energy required to dissociate a solid into isolated atoms or molecules as appropriate.

‘Electron affinity’ :  In  a  system  of  a  neutral  atom  and  an  extra  electron,  when  extra electron  is  attracted  from  the  infinity  to  the  outer  orbit  of  neutral atom, work done is known as electron affinity of the atom.
