What would be the aims and objectives of the business Luke is planning to implement after graduation?
His Business deals with people that are unaware of the modern world of technology by teaching them basic and yet very important skills in front of a computer screen. This is very necessary for the modern work force. He would aim to enlighten people that are older and are reluctant to go back to work due to their lack of knowledge in the field of information technology. He aims to teach them more about the things they still don't know about such as E-mails and the use of Internet. In the modern day, the use of social networking is very important in one's business and personal life. He would also aim to help people understand the how his service not only enhances their chances at starting off a career; it is also benefits one's social and private life. Evidently, this would mean he would also want to produce a maximum profit in his new found business.
"A business that fails to plan, plans to fail". (Pinson, 1999)
Luke would need to fulfil several Objectives that he would require in order to accomplish his aims. Firstly, he has to recognize that the people that he wants to be drawn into his service are those who are unaware of the world of technology; therefore he needs to find traditional means of advertising to draw in his clients. He could create advertisements on newspapers, magazines, radio and even on directory listings such as "Yellow Pages". He should also consider social media marketing and direct marketing techniques like customer visits.
Planning the business out is also very important and needs to keep the business flexible due to the fact that if the business doesn't move anywhere it is bound to cause issues as normally things don't go according to plan.
