Selection of computing infrastructure

The computing equipment on an Intranet must be selected in such a manner that they do not get obsolete very quickly or become too costly for the company. Apart from the specification of such equipments, the following points should also be considered and drawn carefully:

• Communication medium/services that provide connectivity between different locations of the company should use technologies such as ISDN, Leased line, etc. leased lines are the dedicated channels between two network components as shown in Figure below.
