Define truss analysis-stability, Civil Engineering

Assignment Help:

Define Truss analysis-stability

  • Identify whether a truss is determinate or indeterminate.
  • Identify if the truss is stable or unstable

m = number of members

r = number of reaction components

j = number of joints

m + r < 2*j -> Unstable

m + r = 2*j -> Statically determinate

m + r > 2*j -> Statically indeterminate

If m + r ≥ 2*j -> Check stability visually
