Define Traditional Methods of Food Processing?

Between the products of early food conservation, were cheese and butter, raisins, pemmican, sausages, bacon and grains. Various methods of preserving food have been around for a long time. The methods like drying, pickling, salting, smoking, canning and freezing have been with us for the times immemorial. But all of these traditional methods are being updated and are in use today in some form.
