Q. Define the Sub-culture categories?

A sub-culture is an identifiable cultural group, distinct which while following the dominant cultural values of the overall society as well has its own values, belief and customs that set them apart from other members of the same society.

Sub-culture categories are:

  • Nationality: Indian, Sri-lanka and Pakistan
  • Religion: Hinduism and Islam
  • Race: Asian, black or white
  • Age: young, middle aged and elderly
  • Sex: Male and Female
  • Occupation: Farmer, teacher and business
  • Social class: lower, middle and upper
