Frequently used example of acidic and basic buffer includes:

- Acidic buffer: a mixture of CH₃ COOH (acetic acid) + CH₃ COONa (sodium acetate), citric acid and sodium acetate, boric acid and borax.

- Basic Buffer: a mixture of NH₄ Cl (ammonium chloride) + NH₄ OH (ammonium hydroxide), potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH₂ PO₄ ) and disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na₂ HPO₄), sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate.
