Define Proteins - Abnormal Constituents of Urine

Proteins: Abnormal amounts of proteins are excreted in certain inflammatory diseases like glomerulonephritis (inflammation of the glomerulus of the kidney, characterized by the decreased production of urine and by the presence of blood and protein in the urine and by edema) and nephrotic syndrome (a collection of symptoms that indicate kidney damage, such as high levels of protein in the urine, lack of protein in the blood and high blood cholesterol).
