Explain Immunoblotting (Western blots)

In this technique, different Ag (which may be viral proteins) is separated by electrophoresis in a solid phase They are subjected to electrophoresis again on nitrocellulose sheets. This is known as blotting. The antigens are stained with radio labeled Ab. The technique is highly specific in detection of AIDS.
