National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Programme (NIDDCP) was named in 1992, of the original NGCP launched in 1962. It takes into its ambit the control of a wide spectrum of reducing the prevalence of IDD below 10 percent by 2010. The Tenth Plan goals are to also achieve universal access to iodized salt and generate district wise data on iodized salt consumption.
