Define Keratomalacia - Micronutrient Deficiencies?
This is a condition of rapid destruction and liquefaction of full thickness of cornea, leading lo prolapse of iris, resulting in permanent blindness. Usually Keratomalacia consists of characteristic softening of the entire thickness of n part, or more often the whole of the cornea leading to deformation or destruction of the eyeball. It is painless but the corneal structure just melts into a cloudy gelatinous mass, dead-white or dirty yellow in colour. Extrusion of the lens and loss of the vitreous may occur.
