Define Fats requirements of school children and adolescents?

The linoleic acid requirements for school children and adolescents have been set at 3 en%. In terms of visible fats, ICMR (1990) has recommended an intake of 5 en%. Since their energy requirements are almost equal to adults, the minimum amount of visible fat works out to be 12 g/d. However, ICMR (1990) suggests a desirable level of visible fat intake of 20 g/d for older children and adolescents which are same as for adults.
