Define External Broaching - Types of Broaching
External broaching is employee for machining a flat surface. The broach is in the form of a small length tool mounted on a slider. It is kept position by the slider heavy guided motion all over traversing length the work piece is held in a fixture. During the return stroke of the broach, the work piece is removed from the position so as to avoid the rubbing of the broach on the work surface. Some of notable examples of surface broaching, as it is also known, are the surface of the automobile cylinders heads and gear parts.
