Define Chain and Ring forms and anomerism?

Many simple sugars can exist in a chain form or a ring form. The ring form is favoured in aqueous solutions, and the mechanism of ring formation is similar for most sugars. Fructose, also called levulose or "fruit sugar", is shown here in the chain and ring forms. In solutions, sugars exist predominantly in the ring form.
