Cycloconverter Scherbius Drive
In this drive instead of dual controlled used in link scherbius drive one phase controlled line commutated cyclconverter is used. This scheme is shown in figure as in dc drive the sub synchronous and super synchronous speed control can be obtained in this scheme because cycloconverter permits the slip power flow in either direction. This is constant torque drive scheme because the slip power is either returned to or taken from the supply mains.
