Cooling of storage tanks:
A research involving using a bench top scale wind tunnel to investigate heat losses from storage tanks. A series of small scale model tanks have been fabricated and you will be required to carry out experiments to investigate how different wind flows affect the rate of heat loss from said tanks. You will also conduct a literature survey to uncover the extant knowledge in this field with particular reference being paid to mathematical models of said processes. If time allows you will be required to learn fluent a computational fluid dynamics package and use it to develop models to simulate the experimental data.

Files: Files are used to remove excess metal by cutting action. These can be classified according to their length, shape, cross-section.
The connecting rod of a four stroke cycle Diesel engine is of circular section and of length 550 mm. The diameter and stroke of the cylinder are 150 mm and 240 mm respectively. The
Q. Explain about wire-frame model? A wire-frame model of an object is the simplest, but more verbose, geometric model that can be used to represent it mathematically in the com
A "swing" ride at a carnival consists of chairs that are swung in a circle by 12.0 m cables attached to a vertical rotating pole, as the drawing shows. (θ = 60.0°) Suppose the tota
A mechanical System (two degrees of freedom system) is represented by the following two differential equations: m1x"1+(k1+k2)x1-k2x2=0 m2x"2-k1x1+(k2+k3) x2=0 Given m1=m2=0.5kg, k
Leakage flux : The flux that links the coil only partially passes through the core does not link the coil as the moving or rotating device is called leakage flux.
microscopic and macroscopic view points
Piston Rings: Piston rings (Figure), fitted into the grooves around the piston, provide a tight sealing effect between the piston and the cylinder wall thus preventing leakage of
