Compare the memory devices RAM and ROM.

Ans. Comparison of Semi-conductor Memories RAM ands ROM
The advantages of ROM are:
1. This is cheaper than RAM.
2. This is non-volatile. Thus, the contents are not lost while power is switched off.
3. This is available in larger sizes than RAM.     '
4. Contents these are always identified and can be easily tested.
5. This does not need refreshing.
6. There is no option of any accidental change into its contents.
The advantages of RAM are:
1. This can be replaced and updated.
2. This can serve as temporary data storage.
3. This does not need lead time (like in ROM) or programming time (like in PROM).
4. This does not need any programming equipment
