Assignment Help:

How are instructions sent between memory and the processor?

  • Both the instruction pointer (IP) and program counter (PC) utilized to holds the memory address of the next instruction to be fetched and executed.
  • To be accessed to the memory unit sends the address of the memory location and issue the applicable control signals (memory read).
  • In the instruction register (IR) ,the instruction that is presently being executed is stored.
  • Timing is critical and is handled by the control unit within the processor.
