Common form of the switch statement:
The common form of the switch statement is as shown below:
switch switch_expression
case caseexp1
action1
case caseexp2
action2
case caseexp3
action3
% etc: there can be many of these
otherwise
actionn
end
The switch statement begins with the reserved word switch, and ends with reserved word end. switch_expression is compared, in series, to the case expressions (caseexp1, caseexp2, etc.). If the value of the switch_expression matches the caseexp1, for illustration, then action1 is executed and the switch statement ends. If the value matches caseexp3, then the action3 is executed, and in common if the value matches caseexpi, where i can be any of the integer from 1 to n, then actioni is executed. When the value of the switch_expression does not match any of the case expressions, the action is taken after the word or else is executed.
Example of Minimum and Maximum Value For matrices, the functions min and max operate column wise by the default: >> mat = randint(2,4,[1 20]) mat = 9 10 1
Polar Form: Any complex number z = a + bi can be thought of as a point (a,b) or vector in the complex plane in which the horizontal axis is the real part of z, and the vertica
Illustration of Spreadsheet Files: This reads the numbers in a double vector variable nums and the text in a cell array txt (the xlsread function forever returns the numbers f
Three-Dimensional Plots: The MATLAB has many functions which will display three-dimensional plots. Most of these functions have similar name as corresponding two-dimensional p
Refer the subset of a matrix: It is also possible to refer to the subset of a matrix. For illustration, this refers to the first & second rows, second & third columns: >> m
Plot Functions: Faraway, we have plotted to generate two-dimensional plots and bar to generate bar charts. We have seen how to clear the Figure Window by using clf, and how to
Minimum and Maximum Value The MATLAB has built-in functions for numerous statistics. For illustration, min and max to find the minimum or maximum value in a data set. >> x
Illustrations of Variable number of output arguments: In the illustrations shown here, the user should actually know the type of the argument in order to establish how many va
Example of Recursive functions: This definition is recursive as a factorial is defined in terms of the other factorial. There are two parts to any recursive definition: the co
Built-in functions for Complex numbers: We know that in MATLAB both i and j are built-in functions which return √-1 (therefore, they can be thought of as built-in constants).
