Clutch free play adjustment of motorcycle, Mechanical Engineering

Clutch Free Play Adjustment : A smooth operation of clutch ensures the smooth running of motorcycle; hence it is essential to maintain a proper clutch free play.

STEPS

On checking the free play of the clutch lever, it should be between 10-20 mm.
If it is not within the specified limits then loosen the lock nut on RCC cover.
The adjuster nut is turned clockwise or anticlockwise to increase or decrease the free play.
Check the clutch cable for correct routing.
If clutch cable is damaged it should be replaced.

Important points to remember :

The free play of the clutch lever must be between 10-20 mm.
