A liquid stream containing half n-hexane and half n-pentane at 80°C and 5 atm is fed at a rate of 100 mol/hr to a flash evaporator operating at pressure (P) and 65°C. The decrease in pressure causes a lot of the liquid to vaporize. The liquid and vapor exit streams are in equilibrium with each other at the same temperature and pressure as in the evaporator. The liquid exit stream contains 59% hexane.
a. Calculate the evaporator pressure (P), the fraction of hexane in the vapor stream, and the flow rates of the exiting liquid and vapor streams.
b. Calculate the rate of heat flow to or from (specify which, to OR from) the evaporator.
c. Usually we think of evaporators as units that increase temperature to vaporize species. Explain how this flash evaporator is able to vaporize the feed with a decrease in temperature.
explain the construction and working of calomel electrode
What is mole?
Electro refining of Copper • Electrolyte - Aqueous copper sulphate solution (acidified) • Cathode - Pure copper metal (thin rod) • Anode - Impure copper metal (thick block) • Disso
why element belonging to group 3 to 12 are trnsicition element
Antimicrobials: These are the chemical substances employed to cure infections because of micro-organisms. These are as well known as microbes. Any creature that causes disease
Lowest sum rule - iupac system of nomenclature previously it may be noted that, the numbering of the parent chain consisting of two or more substituents was done in such a way
how does molar volume varies with: a) a decrease in temperature d) an increase in pressure
Favourable conditions for electrovalency are: (1) Low charge on ions, large cation, small anion (2) High charge on ions, small cation, large anion (3)High charge on ions,
WHAT IS USE OF ION PAIR REAGENTS? The chemical substances that pair each other, to produces complexes. These can use for stabilization of one of the molecule that is more active
