Beam Penetration Method and Shadow Mask Method
Two methods exist for displaying colors in a CRT monitor - beam penetration method and shadow mask method. Beam penetration method is a simple inexpensive way to produce colors in random scan displays, but has a limited scope of colors. Shadow mask method is more commonly used in color CRT monitors having raster scan display systems.
