Approaches of soft systems methodology and socio-technical, Project Management

Assignment Help:

Why are approaches as like the Soft Systems Methodology, Business Process Reengineering and the Socio-Technical Approach relevant to IS project managers?

The development of information systems does not acquire place into a vacuum and is not exclusively a technical implement. Information systems are created to meet business requirements and they have to be developed and implemented into the structure, culture and processes of an organisation.

The Soft Systems Methodology acquires a holistic view of ‘systems’, about a business system as human activity system within the SSM terminology as something which takes place into a structural and cultural context. The same as it is, the Socio-Technical approach recognises which systems cannot be simply regarded like inanimate objectives, and offers concepts for placing systems within their human and organisational context. At last, Business Process Reengineering is related with the radical redevelopment of business systems therefore as to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency along with that inputs are transformed in outputs valued through the customer. Various BPR solutions include the use of information and communications technology to encourage and support such enhancements.
