AA steam power plant operates on a reheat Rankine cycle. Steam enters the high-pressure
turbine at a pressure of 12.5 MPa and temperature of 550
oC at a rate of 15 kg/s. It leaves
the turbine at a pressure of 2 MPa. The steam is then reheated at constant pressure of
2 MPa to a temperature of 500
oC before it expands in the low-pressure turbine. The steam
exits the low-pressure turbine at a pressure of 10 kPa. The steam leaves the condenser as
saturated liquid. The expansion process in both turbines can be assumed as isentropic.
a) Sketch the schematic diagram of the plant and the cycle on a T-s diagram,
b) Determine the net power output of the plant, in kW,
c) Calculate the thermal efficiency, in %,
