Q. Use of high temperature materials in Furnaces?

Often, furnace tubing and refractory protected membrane walls are fabricated from plain carbon steel with a minimum of 0.25% carbon. Around the burners a low alloy (Carbon - 0.5% Mo) steel may be used. As tube wall design temperatures increase, low alloy steels are required.
