Aims of Filing System

A filing system aims to keep information in its proper place so that it can be' easily retrieved when needed. king this in mind, it might be useful to outline what makes for a good filing system:

a) It should be clear and easily understood.

b) It should be accessible.

c) It should be adaptable and easily updated.

All of these are made easier by some kind of indexing of each group of items by some kind of "key" e-g. alphabetical or numerical ordering, or colour coding.
