1. Lower costs that personal interviews.

2. Random digit idling ( RDD) sampling of general population:

3. Better access to certain population especially as compared to personal interviews.

4. Shorter data collection periods.

5. The advantages of interviewer administration( in contrast to mail surveys.

6. Interviewer staffing and management easier than personal interviews smaller staff needed not necessary to be near from a list sample than form mail.

7. Likely better response rate form a list sample than from mail.
