Activation domains, Biology

Assignment Help:

Unlike  DNA  binding  domains  and  dimerization  domains,  no  general  structural motifs have since been identified  in the activation  domains  of diverse transcription factors. Some parts of activation domain are as follows:

?   Acidic activation   domains   are rich in acidic amino acids aspartic   and glutamic acids. For instance, mammalian glucocorticoid receptor proteins have this kind of activation domain;

? an glutamine-rich domains for instance as in SP1 transcription factor;

? An proline-rich domains for example as in c-jun transcription factor
