HRM Theory and Practice

Assessment summary: This assessment requires you to write an annotated bibliography of three journal articles. The three articles cover key aspects of the issues the unit addresses:

• Strategic HRM and;
• Decent work approaches to HRM.

The two main sections to the annotated bibliography are:

• the bibliographical information (the reference for each article)
o This refers to the correct style of reference for the article. The bibliographical information must be correct using the APA reference style.

• the explanatory paragraphs (the annotation where you critically assess each article).
o The explanatory paragraphs must provide three sections:

Question 1. a summary of the main arguments or ideas presented by the author/s of the article you are annotating

Question 2. an evaluation of how useful you found the source in relation to the topic it addresses. In this section you critically assess the contribution of the article by comparing it to other articles on the same topic (you must research to find these articles). All sources used in this section should be from good quality academic journal articles or book chapters.

Question 3. a reflection on how you anticipate the source can assist you in developing your understanding of the topic of the article. This means you write about how your personal understanding of the topic has been developed by completing the annotation.
